AP03 Rear Right+Left Liftgate Tailgate Hatch Trunk-Lift Support Strut Shock 31386705 31386706 for VOLVO XC60 T6&T5

POWER LIFTER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION

1. Find the defective power lifter by using diagnostic device;

2. Open the tailgate;[Warning:Risk of injury!] Prop tailgate in fully opened position;

3. Measure and record the opening height;

4.Remove the decorative plate of rear windscreen;

5. Remove the power switch on the back cover and remove the plug – in;

6. Remove 2 screws hidden behind the door handle with a suitable tool;

7. Carefully remove lower tailgate trim,then upper trim; [Note: Watch out for the clips]

8. Bring tailgate into maximum opening position and secure against accidental lowering;

9. Pull out the rubber seal that connects between wire of power lifter and car body;

10. Remove the power plug-in of power lifter and pull out the wire of power lifter from the hole of body through gap carefully;

11. With a suitable tool, loosen safety clip from driver ball socket seat at the tailgate and remove;

12. Repeat for driver location on the body; [If replacing both sides, repeat steps 9 through 12 on the other side.]

Reverse sequence of instructions to install

13. Install power lifter (first body, then tailgate);

14. Guide connector through cable routing and connect; [Important: Check cable routing for proper seat and latching]

15. Insert rubber grommet; [Important: Check that the installation is correct to ensure proper seal!]

16. Install the back shroud, then install the decorative plate of rear windscreen;

17. Install the screw of back shroud with suitable tool;

18. Plug the power plug back into the switch; [Note: make sure the switch plug is properly inserted]

19. Put the switch back on the back shroud;

20. Initialize power lifter drive using a suitable tester according to manufacturer’s instructions; [Note: Connect charger to support battery; connect diagnostic device; Initialize tailgate using the previously recorded opening height; check opening height; check fault memory entries and delete as applicable!]
